Verizon Wireless Phishing Email Campaign
National Penn is aware of public reports of an active phishing attack via email messages claiming to be from Verizon Wireless. These messages have a “spoofed” or falsified email address such as "AccountNotify@verizonwireless.com”, and may contain the subject lines "Thank you for your Verizon Wireless Payment”, or “Your Bill Is Now Available”. The messages ask users to click on a link to view or sign in to their account. The links point to a malicious website which distributes malware onto your computer.
Anyone receiving one of these potentially malicious emails should delete the email without clicking any of the links or downloading file attachments.
